Happy Birthday Dad!

I wanted to do a little shout out to my father! He turned 60 years old on the 17th.

The reasons why Edwin Leo Woolley is the best day ever:
1. He never gets mad... the only times growing up that I can remember him getting mad was when one of the kids upset mom.
2. He loves my mom. He does everything for her. My mom is like me and loves list and she makes a "honey to do list" and he actually does them! My parents are a great example of a happy eternal couple.
3. He is strong in the church. My dad knows everything to do with the church (well at least my simple level questions). He always has callings that devote a lot of time and he never complains and goes about his calling loving it.
4. My dad is always giving. He and my mom have tired their hardest to make sure us kids had everything we needed. We all played sports growing up and they made sure they had the money to support us, even when they had no money themselves.
5. He has a great personality. My dad makes jokes all the time, some aren’t so funny, but the way he smiles and laughs at his jokes you can’t help but laugh too.
6. He is great at making breakfast! Every time I go to Sherwood Park to visit, he always makes a yummy breakfast! I also remember in High School and after when I still lived at home, my dad would also make my lunches!

I am sure i can go on forever, but to end it here are some pictures of my dad.

My dad and me at my wedding.

My dad a bit younger (this was the only picture i had on hand, i took a picture of a picture)

So Happy 60th Dad! Love You!

25 Random Things About Me

I got tagged on facebook to do this list... and i decided to follow Breanne's lead and do it on this thing instead.

1. When i was young, the doctors thought i had spinal meningitis but it mysteriously went away. Another time they thought i had leukemia, and that too vanished.

2. I am an organization freak. Not a total neat freak but everything has to be organized, in its place and in a perfect place (my label maker is my favorite household appliance). My house is clean most of the time, but due to a busy life, i have learned not to freak about not having a neat house 100% of the time (just 95%).

3. My husband wants to be a politician and i failed every test i ever wrote in social studies in high school. So basically i know NOTHING about politics, Canada's history, ect. But i am learning... slowly...

4. I love looking into other people's houses. I know its creepy, but if we are driving, i just like to see how other people decorate and their paint colors. I have even made Scott turn around a few times, so i can look again if anything catches my eye.

5. After high school my friend Krystal got me a job as a administration assistant. I only planned to be in a job like that for a year or so... its now been 6 years and i am still an admin. But I have done other stuff, taken a decorating certificate, bookkeeping classes, but right now it pays the bills, so here i am still.

6. At one time i lived with 6 girls. 7+ sleeping in the house at a time and tons of company over all the time.

7. I bought my condo when i was 20 years old. People say, i was smart to invest so young because the market went up like crazy after i bought. But really the only reason i did wanted to buy was that it drove me crazy to live in a house (the roommate house with 7 girls) and nothing matched. The decor was terrible. I couldn't stand it! And no one cleaned!

8. My sister and i are 4 days less than 1 year apart... I don't know how my mother did it!

10. I am very negative. That is right, i am a extremely negative person, but Scott is extremely positive. Good thing for him our i would probably lay in bed all day thinking how bad our life is :)

11. I love Superstore. Something about it just makes me happy. I love walking up and down all the rows. I take my time in the clothes area, even spend time looking at all the cute kids and baby clothes. I love all their home decor stuff and all their kitchen gadgets. I have come to realize the other day, that i need to stop going in that store because i buy way to much stuff i don't need.

12. I don't have a gall bladder. The doctors took it out when i was in grade 11.

13. I love to vacuum. Something about it just makes me really excited. One of the best parts of it is taking off the basket thing and looking at what i collected! I have this nice shag rug in my living room and it always plugs my vacuum, i love reaching my hand of the tubes and grabbing the fuzz out!

14. I have this thing for writing things down. I love to make lists on paper and also on the computer. I make list for Scott, but of course he never looks at them. Scott said i should just get a iPod touch or iPhone to do my lists but it wouldn't be the same. I love looking at my list all the time, adding graphics. It just makes me happy. I feel productive just writing the list. Even if nothing gets done, at least my list looks nice!

15. I lack confidence. A lot of girls do, but i think mine is a bit more extreme. I will refuse to do places sometimes just because i know how ugly and fat i am... not want people to judge me.

16. That brings me to the next point, i hate being judged. I hate when i make someone upset. It bother me forever. Can't sleep at nights because i just think about it.

17. I want to me a mom so bad I cry about it! But I also don't like to be poor.

18. Poor... I hate being poor. I hate debt. So much stress! I think the most debt we have been in (other than mortgage and Rav) is like $1,500(it was from the wedding and Scott tuition). And i cried! I would cry all the time. I would tell Scott i hated our life and that things where so bad for us!

19. I love marshmallows. I can't have them in the house or i will eat the whole bag in one sitting. I love making anything with marshmallows in it. Popcorn w/ marshmallows is current favorite!

20. I have never ever changed a diaper!

21. My two favorite subjects though out high school was Math and Gym.

22. I love crafts! I get this love from my mom. I have list of crafts i want to make, just don't find time yet to do them.

23. Both my dad and Scott's dad's first name is Edwin. Both our parents wedding anniversary is on the same day.

24. I played Rugby, basketball and team handball in high school. Basketball i played since i was in grade 4.

25. It is 7:30 in the morning on a Saturday and i have no reason to get up early. Scott left for work a few minutes ago and when he shuts the door, i all of a sudden am fully wake up and cant sleep anymore. But yet i sleep though all the noise of him getting ready for work and i even sleep though the kiss goodbye. Its weird.

As you can tell by the post date, i started this a few days ago (it is really the 7th today)... but finally finished!!! Now its your turn!

Christmas Party

My work Christmas Party this year was at the Rimrock in Banff on January 10th. It was a beautiful weekend averaging about 0 degrees. Scott and I went up Friday and spent the extra night in Banff (so did most of the people I work with). Saturday Scott and I went for lunch at some yummy organic deli and then we went for a hike up Johnson’s Canyon. We had been on that hike once before but it was in the summer a few years ago when we where dating. The water fall is even more amazing in the winter than that summer. Here are some pictures we took.

That Saturday night was the Solex Thermal Science Christmas party. It was a lot of fun and at dinner they did a murder mystery. It was pretty funny, a little shocking for some at first when the lady died. But i am happy to report that i won the murder mystery. I figured it all out! But then again, I think Scott and I were the only ones not drinking, so our minds where a bit more sharp than the rest. After dinner it was just a social event, with snacks, music and a lot of drinking. These two pictures my friend John-Roger from work, took. He lives out in Germany. We have tons of people that work at our company from different parts of the world.

Christmas 2008

Christmas this year was spent with Scott's family. Christmas eve at his grandpa's house with tons of family, christmas day at his parents and Boxing day evening at his uncles. The day after boxing day for me was spent in bed for about 3 days sick with the flu. I think the first day i threw up about 10 times and the next few days i was just in bed... sleeping. But i got better and Scott and I went to my parent's house for New Years. We also spent time with my friends in Edmonton, playing games, wii and just catching up.

Christmas Day at the Fullmer's...

Scotts mom's tree!

I like this one because it shows the gift opening craziness!

Random Christmas Decor at my house...

My biggest surprise of Christmas was my new camera! I have been telling Scott that i wanted a new camera forever. And finally a few months before Christmas we started looking into one. I knew which one i wanted just because i liked the Canon commercials but Scott is different and did the hunt on the best camera out there for what i needed.

SO that is what i got for Christmas from Scott and his parents. Scott just didn't tell me about his Christmas bonus he got from work and used that money.
This is my new camera!

Happy Birthday Scott

It was Scott's Birthday yesterday... here is how we celebrated!

I woke up around 9... got a few things done around the house, then woke Scott up to make him waffles!

As we eat waffles, we watched Elf!

Then we got ready for church... went to church. Can't let those Primary and Nursery kids down by not showing up :)

When we got home, Scott open his present that was hiding under the bed. As you can tell from the pictures, he was very shocked to see what i had given him. He asked for Guitar Hero - World Tour for Christmas but since he was expecting it, i thought i would give it to him for his birthday instead... throw him off a bit!

I love Scott's new vest. His mom gave it to him for his birthday. They had his birthday dinner last sunday for him.

After the gift opening, we had our friends Colby and Ashley over for dinner. I made chicken enchillads and chocolate cake with a oero creamcheese middle (Scott's requests).

And today is our 2nd year wedding anniversary! Happy 2 years Scotty!

I wanted to post this picture, because i looks nice outside. According to www.weather.ca the max temperature the day we had our pictures taken was -0.9C (but i swear it was colder than that) and today and tomorrow... well it's like -35C with the windchill!

19 Days Till Christmas

I haven't been that excited for Christmas yet... maybe it is the fact Scott is busy with studing for exams and I am busy finishing up my class and we both are still working. BUT i hope to get more in the spirit of Christmas as of tonight, last night helped too since we had our ward Christmas party. Scott is at school right now writing his first final exam. I have to make a little side note, that I find it a little odd that his final is on a Saturday night. It wasn't a weekend class or even a evening class. Weird!
Back to my Christmas talk... I had some running around to do this morning, had a baby shower to go to this afternoon and all evening i have been cleaning, doing laundry and putting the last Christmas touches up. My tiny condo looks in order again and now i can start to enjoy Christmas... hopefully.
I am looking forward to Thursday when Scott is done his exams for this semester and he has a break from school (but not from work). And on the 16th I am done my class and on the 23rd I have a break from work till January 5! Scott and I are planning some fun date nights for the holidays. Including, making ginger bread houses (I am most excited for that one).
We still have most of our Christmas shopping to do. So far, we have just done my parents. We have ideas, but need to go out and get the gifts.

My mom and dad where in town 3 weekends ago and I have to share my little gift my mom bought me in Okotoks. My goal this year was not to buy anything new for Christmas decorating, since i bought tons at Pottery Barn last Christmas when i worked there. SO i was glad for my moms gift to me! Thanks Mom!

Weekend Update

Scott and I had a wonderful weekend in Sherwood Park. I love going to visit home and seeing my family and friends. Another major reason i love going away is i get to spend time with my hubby. Scott normally works every Saturday, so when we go out of town i get my husband for a full day! Friday night we had a wedding to go to. My friend Sarah got married to a really cute Australian. I didn't take any pictures, but I found this one on facebook (hope you don't mind Colette). They are a very gorgeous couple. Sarah played professional Volleyball in Europe and he plays professional Rugby in Australia. Couldn't get more perfect than that! Congratulations Sarah and Chris.

After the wedding, we went over to our friends Breanne and Jordan's house. I have only seen their baby once before this weekend, so i was looking forward to seeing cute little Avery.

Saturday was shopping! Scott loves west ed, but due to lack of money we don't go to the mall very often. I think it had been almost a year since we went to West Edmonton Mall. Scott loves his abercrombie and finch. My parents gave him an early birthday present (money) to buy something new. We decided instead of clothes (Scott barely wears causal clothes anymore because of work) he was going to buy a nice lap top cover for his new lap top he ordered online the day before.

This was his early Birthday and Christmas present from me. Scott waited for me to get home from school on Thursday night so he could open it with me. The way Scott was so excited to open the Mac book, you would have thought he was like 5 years old on Christmas day.

Life

Life has been busy lately for us lately… Scott just finished his last midterm, and happy that the semester is done in a month. I started taking a night class a few weeks ago. It is a bookkeeping class…. And so far so good. Easy stuff since I already do the basic bookkeeping for my father-in-laws business.

My grandfather passed away a few weeks ago. Sadly I didn’t really know him that well, even though he lives in Calgary but on a good note, I did get to go visit my Grandma in her nursing home on Saturday. I think that was the first time I saw her for at least 5 years maybe even 8. She was cute, she was shocked at how big I had gotten, she is suffering with dementia, so she still thinks of me as a little girl. I was reading my grandfathers obituary in the herald and I learned more about him from that then I did over the past 24 years. Here are some highlights from the obituary…
WESTFALL _ Delmar Alonzo 1923 - 2008 God saw Delmar getting tired and called him home on November 4, 2008. Delmar will be sadly missed by his eternal loving wife and partner Helen; two daughters Wendy Debra (Edwin) Woolley of Sherwood Park, Alberta, Susan Michelle (Roy) Peters of Surrey, B.C.; a son, Grayden Michael (Kathy) of Temple City, California; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Harold and Bessie Westfall, by a son, Rodney Merrick and a brother Archie of Pueblo, Colorado, U.S.A. He was deeply dedicated to his faith and served in numerous positions and callings in the church - including Bishop of Calgary 4th Ward. He was a dedicated husband, father and friend. Delmar was raised and received his education in the Ross Lake and Jefferson areas of Southern Alberta. He finished his education in Calgary and worked for forty-four years in the head office in the insurance industry in the business administration section, besides attending advanced accounting classes for four more years. In lieu of flowers, if desired, memorial tributes may be made to the charity of one's choice. At Delmar's request a private family Graveside Service will be held at Mountain View Memorial Gardens.

My grandparents in 1949

Dont know when this was taken, but still cute.

A death in the family really makes you think and makes you treasure the relationships we still have here on earth. I am grateful for my eternal loving husband and everything that he does for me. He works hard in school and gets basically an A in every class. Then he works on selling cars before school, after school and during school, to be able to pay for school. I am also extremely grateful for my parents and my sister and two brothers. I talk to my mom daily and she is such a strength to me. I also email my sister almost daily and I am thankful that are still close even though we live 3 hours apart. I am also grateful for Scott’s family. They live here in Calgary, so we see them weekly and it is great to have family here. I will admit that being with them sometimes really makes me miss my family and it is hard but times like that, I just tell Scott when he is done school we are moving to Edmonton. I love telling him that, because he gets this extremely nervous laugh… and doesn’t want to talk about it.

I am looking forward to helping my mom scan all her childhood pictures that are at her parents house. She was just a cute little girl with her red hair. I also got interested in family history this past weekend looking at all the pictures and records. I went to download the www.familysearch.org free program but cant find one for a Mac... does anyone know if they have one? Vinnie, you might know...

Anyways this is enough rambling for the day...
