Christmas 2011

There is something extra special about Christmas when you have little ones around the house. Boston had a blast with all the family jam packed into one week. We arrived in Sherwood Park late Friday night and had a quick visit with my family before heading to bed. The next day we went to visit Santa (posted about that here) and then my brother and his family came over for Christmas Eve.

Christmas Day was wonderful. Boston was very excited to open his stocking and all his presents.

Christmas Eve and also Christmas night we watched movies, very traditional in our family. Scott begged up to watch his favourite christmas movie on Christmas Eve, A Family Stone.

Boxing day, my brother, Tami, Deb (Tami's mom), Scott and I went to the new Mission Impossible movie, after we went back to my parents house and we played a very friendly long game of rook. We also took a few minutes to teach Boston a few tips.

We didn't get to see everyone we wanted in Edmonton, but did get a chance to visit with a few really good friends. After our time in Sherwood Park came to an end, we headed to Calgary. Boston got to open presents once again and play with new toys and his cousins. He also got to go to his Grandpa's work and try out some heavy machinery.

Sadly Boston got sick on Saturday (New Years Eve) and threw up all day and continued to throw up for 5 days straight. He stayed right here in this position on the Fullmer's couch for 2 days before we loaded him into the car for a long drive home. Boston doesn't talk too much, but after he would throw up, he would start shaking his head no and say, "I Don't, I Don't", in the saddest little voice!

We arrived home in Regina around 12:30 in the morning and I had to work in the morning. Scott was especially worried about Boston since he was getting so skinny and hadn't kept anything down for 2 days. We ended up going to the hospital to get Boston some good medicine to help keep down some liquid! I'm not a good mother and thought he would be fine and didn't want to go. After my recent adventure to the hospital, I just didn't want to go through that again.

The hospital went good. They said he had really low blood sugar and wouldn't let us leave till it went up. He also weighed a few ounzes less than what he did on November 9, at his shots (24 lbs 12 oz). We weren't there too long and I was able to get in 1 hour of sleep before going to work. The next 3 days, Boston slowly made his recovery.

Luckily Boston got better after the 5th day. He is eating so much, it's getting ridicules. Making up for 5 days of no food.

Boston's Cousins

When my family came to town, my sister brought me the pictures from our Ontario photo shoot of the grandkids for my mom. It was almost impossible to get a good picture with all 4 kids, especially with my child! Luckily my sister in law is amazing and captured a few.

Can't wait for the next time these 4 are together.

On Their Way

I am excited… my parents are on their way to Regina right now. And to make it even better, my sister is flying here tomorrow. They are spending the weekend with us, to enjoy the Thanksgiving!
Thanks everyone for your nice encouraging comments on my last post. I am going to try and be happy and enjoy what I do have, even if it isn’t ideal.
Here are a few pictures from daycare of the little boy that does make me happy.
This little boy is Liam, he is a girl I work with little boy. He is just a few months younger than Boston. He came into the dayhome for a few days while his was closed. Don't they just look so happy to be friends!
His hair is really looking red in the sun lately.

Typical Boston!

Mississauga Ontario

Boston and I went to Ontario to visit my brother Jeff and his family. My sister Alyssa, also came flying from Edmonton. It was a lot of fun and so nice to get away and see family. I have missed seeing people! Here are a few pictures from our trip in random order.

Learning to play basketball

After waking up from a wonderful nap... this nap was my favourite nap of his all trip! We went to this yummy buffet (I love food, especially all you can eat... might be why i need to lose 40 lbs) and he slept the whole time and I could actually enjoy myself without worrying about Boston!

Can't wait to go back. Next time I will have to bring Scott and show him around. My brother and his wife were amazing to us and spoiled us in everyway! Thanks Again!

Regina Beach

We spent the afternoon at Regina Beach, about 30 minutes away. It took Boston a good 30 minutes to touch the sand and about an hour to stand in it. Little guy hated the feeling of sand between his toes.

Happy Birthday Alyssa

Today is my sisters birthday! Sad we were not there to celebrate. But to show how much I loved her, I went and got a pedicure with 5 ladies at work!

Happy Boy with his toys

I took a picture of Boston today thinking this would be a perfect picture for my sibblings. Why they might ask... well Alyssa gave Boston the dog, Mike and Tami gave him the other toy and my mom bought Boston the outfit in Ontario with the help of his cousin Nathan. Boston has always loved both of these toys. He loves pulling them along and the sounds and music they make. Lately he loves to pull along both at the same time!

27 Years Old

Happy Birthday to me! Scott got up early and made us French Toast (he was making up for me having to tell him, it was my birthday the night before) :)
He then went to a class he had till noon. Boston had a good nap in the morning which was a nice gift to me and I was alone for 2 hours! After Scott got home we went on a hunt for cupcakes. Basically impossible in this town. After we found some, we went for lunch at the mall and shopping. Boston was pretty funny, he was good until i went into a change room and then we had to take him out the the stroller to get him quiet and that was a huge mistake. Boston went crazy... running around the mall. Running in the stores, in the hallways, riping things off shelves. We were those parents, you know the ones you see in the mall and secretly look and think, Why cant they control their child?!?
I took a picture of B in this hat, I thought it was very cute on him but need to wait for it to go on sale at the Gap.
We left after I finished up getting what we went for and Boston fall asleep the moment we put him in the car. Guess he wore himself out with all the running.
After the mall we went back home and I went out by myself to pick up a mirror at Home Sense from my parents for my birthday gift. I also did a few other window shopping including lusting over this deck box i want from JYSK. Wouldn't it be so cute with a bunch cushion on the top with all of Boston's out door toys inside!? And Painted a fun summer color?! I just don't want to spend that much on one....

We finished off my birthday with my favorite pizza, Pango Chicken Taco and cupcakes. I sure hope this is the last birthday I will have to spend NOT with my "twin" sister (we are twin for 4 days till Alyssa's birthday on the 20th) and my family.

Package for Boston

Boston received a package in the mail from Grandma Fullmer. He was so happy to see all the cute new clothes and bubbles! His cousin Ethan sent him some of his old church clothes too. We love having an older fashionable cousin to borrow clothes from!

First Roughriders Game

My friend kristi got free tickets to one of the pre season roughriders game against Edmonton. We have always wanted to go and see what these diehard fans were all about. It was fun but cold and windy, so we left at the end of the 3rd. I will admit I did cheer for Saskatchewan, I hope my brothers don't disown me. But honestly, I wouldn't want to be beat up with a baby in my arms for cheering for the opposite team as all the crazy saskatchewan fans.

Weekly Skype with my family!

Long Drive Home

We had to leave Calgary a few days earlier than planned to head back to Regina. Scott got offered a summer job and we had to get back for an interview. He is going to be working as a summer student for the same company that he is doing his internship with starting in September. I think they wanted him because he is so amazing that they decided to offer him a summer job and get a years worth (instead of 8 months) of his smarts and abilities :0

After a few hours packing our car to the max and then a trip to Chinook to get Scott an iPhone replacement (the sound went on his while in Arizona), a few last minute Bath and Body products and a couple Pottery Barn pillow inserts (the best inserts I have ever found for any home made pillows covers), we headed off to our home.

We have found that Boston falls asleep for a few hours and then is wide awake for almost the rest of the trip (about 8 hours). We also figured out that Boston is way happier with Dad in the back seat and not me. I drive and Scott sits back with Boston keeping him entertained.

About 2 hours out of Regina, Boston was getting very sad. We took our seconds stop at McDonald's and this one happened to have a play ground. Boston's first McDonald's Playground! There was this little girl, maybe almost 3 and her and Boston had so much fun playing together. Boston was a bit confused when the girl would climb up the steps and head down the slide. Didn't understand 1. where did she go?? and 2. why can't he go with her??

And we are back. Boston didn't go to bed till about 1 in the morning. He was just too excited to see all the stuff on the ground and the endless unpacking he could do. He was in HEAVEN!

Family Photo

We all went to Cheesecake Factory, our favourite and Scott's dad was trying to take a family photo of the 3 of us... it is already hard taking a good picture with an iPhone with any movement, but add in a busy 1 year old and a waitress trying to talk to me.... well you get this!
