Baby Bump

There has been a few requests for a baby bump... I've been terrible at taking pictures. Pictures of myself aren't something I ever do, so being pregnant sure hasn't changed that.

Here I am right before we moved around 20 weeks.

Here I am at 29 weeks.

Here I am today at 33 weeks.

Only 7 weeks left till my due date of September 8. I really hope this baby stays in for almost full term, unlike Boston. I am not ready for a baby in 3 weeks, I need this one to come in 7!

There's a Baby in Mommy's Tummy

Thanks for all the wonderful comments on the last post and on facebook, we are very excited to be welcoming a new little baby to our family. I am due September 8 and 16 weeks along. We told my family in person right when we got back from Mexico in the exact same way as the video. The video I posted earlier we filmed a week later and texted it to Scott's family and that is how we told them.

This pregnancy has been better than the first and in some ways worse. Better because I didn't throw up once. With Boston I only did 3 times and 2 of the 3 were because I didn't clue into the fact I need to take my prenatal vitamin at nights and not in the morning. But I think I've been equally nauseated with both pregnancies.

And it has been worse because as a lot of you know, in the first trimester when you have no kids you can go to bed right when you get home from work, but with a crazy toddler at home, no early bed time and only a short nap on the weekends. Plus I've been getting really massive headaches! Another not so nice thing with this pregnancy is I have gained weight, with Boston, I lost weight in the first trimester.

We were pretty surprised to get pregnant the first month trying. But I guess we waited long enough that a little baby was waiting impatiently for the chance to come.

I don't look pregnant yet. Mostly in that phase when people wonder... is she gaining more weight?! This time around I have more fat on my belly, so I am assuming the round bump will show later than with Boston.

I have my ultrasounds booked for April 26th! Can't wait to find out what the little bean is. I am hoping for another boy. I just think it would be fun (and hard) to have two boys 2 years apart. BUT of course, I will be super happy if it is a girl!

We tell Boston there is a baby in Mommy's tummy but he doesn't get it. Just lifts up his shirt to show us his tummy. But he LOVES babies. I was surprised to watch him a few weeks ago when we went to Calgary interact with the babies he would see. He would bring them toys and bottles (even if it wasn't their bottle). He would also find blankets and put them on the babies and tuck them up. It was too cute.  Boston is going to be an amazing big brother (hopefully)!

Boston's Announcement

Boston got all dressed up in the outfit Mommy and Daddy bought him in Mexico to share this special announcement with all his family and friends!!

Wood

My purchases after a shopping trip to the hardware store with my dad! Can't wait to start crafting!

Days Till Christmas Blocks

I know these blocks can be found everywhere from blogs to super saturdays (google super saturday crafts if you don't know what it is), but I thought I would share my version.
My sister who claims to not be crafty, did one with me. Here she is hard at work.
The supplies:
  • 2 wood cubes measuring 3.5 inches
  • 1 wood block measuring 7.5 inches long, 3.5 inches deep and 1 inch tall
  • 12 pieces of christmas scrapbook paper measuring 3 inches square
  • Mod Podge
  • White Paint (or any color you choose)
  • Sponge brush
  • Letters that read "Days Till Christmas" (I got my vinyl lady to cut it for us)
  • Numbers for block 1 - 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (I used my cricut to cut these out)
  • Numbers for block 2 - 0, 1, 2, 6, 7, 8 (make sure your 6 can also be a 9)
The finished product!

5 Weeks

Exactly 5 weeks left till i am due! I am nervous and excited. I want him to come early but i think every mom does.
We are getting more and more ready physically (I am not there emotionally yet). My parents come for the Easter weekend and helped out a lot. Sometimes i just need someone to hold my hand to motivate me to do this. My mom is this person!
My easter weekend goal was sewing baby blankets. I needed someone to just help me decided what fabric should go with what and also the size of the blankets and my mom was the person i needed. They left Sunday and on Monday and Tuesday i sewed all day (took those 2 days off work). I only have one more blanket to sew but i need to wash the fabric first and my washer is still broken (hopefully will be fixed this week). I messed up on a few of them, i sewed 8 in total, but hopefully anyone holding my baby wont notice and i am 100% sure baby wont notice!

We also bought a car seat that weekend. We had a coupon for $30 off and in the end decided to go with a more expensive car seat (i only cared about the color, Scott cared about everything else).
I also bought a bassinet for the baby. I couldn't comprehend spending over $120 for the moses basket and then another $50 for the stand, so i went the cheap way and bought a plain basket and foam to go inside for less than $40!
Here is the start to my nursery, honestly this is the only corner i have done anything with yet... i decided to go with this owl pattern from Dwell Studio! It will show up more later with the crib, moses basket and a few blankets. The chair is big, i regret that but hope that if we have to move it will fit better in the new room. But it was cheap and my dad was kind enough to paint it white! My friend recovered the cushions and we bought the lamp just last night from Crate and Barrel! The little table and basket underneath came back with us from Arizona in February. I think the table was $10 from target and the basket was also $10.

Looking at this picture i really want to paint... i hope we find out soon if we are going to move away for school...

Thankful Thursday

Today i am thankful for my condo building and that fact it wasn't the one on fire in Calgary today.

Check out this link...

I think this really hit home and i started crying watching the news. Millrise is just one community over from my community and the buildings are almost exactly the same. The only difference is mine is 1 year older and only 3 floors and this one is 4. But i do believe they are the same builder and shaped like mine. I couldn't even think what i would do or feel if this happened to us. My heart goes out to anyone that has been involved in a fire. It is just sooo sad!

On a happier note, i am also 32 weeks. I took these pictures on Monday after my sister reminded me it was the 15th of March and I am due the 15th of May... exactly 2 months left! And no my belly button has not popped, that is just a crease in my shirt.

People keep asking me if i am ready for baby to come and honestly, is anyone ever really ready? K, maybe people are more ready than i am right now. I am missing a lot of important baby items and also missing a lot of important information (which i plan to start learning Wednesday as my prenatal classes start). Oh well... I am taking 2 days off at the beginning of April and enjoying a 5 day weekend. I am planning on sewing a bunch of baby blankets and also start to organize baby clothes.
The baby bedding i want is on order and can take up to 10 more weeks. But the cushions to my rocking chair are at my friends house right now being recovered! I also want to paint the babies room so bad, anyone that knows me knows, i love color and decorating but we don't know 100% if we are going to be here in September and I don't want to paint if we are moving. We wont hear back from the schools till another month or more.
So am i ready, NO, but a few of the reason are out of my control. We are just keeping busy. Scott is focusing on his last classes and also applying for tons of internships for May. He has to do one to complete his degree. Scott also was called to teach seminary 3 days a week at 6:30 in the morning. He started when we got back from Arizona. He seems to be enjoying it, i just hope the youth are enjoying him!
I am just going to work and when i get home and on weekends i de-junk and organize. I am thankful for Scott's sister Amanda as she is letting us store a bunch of boxes at her house that use to be in the spare room.

Happy Thankful Thursday!

Duggers

Did anyone watch the Dugger’s Special on TLC Sunday night? I cried though the last 30 minutes when I saw the baby come out. It was just so tiny and the exact age my little guy is right now inside of me (25 weeks). It broke my heart watching it try to breath and watching the little chest move up and down way too fast. It was unbelievable to think that is what my baby looks like right now, same size, same everything.

Here is a clip from TLC, but it doesn't actually show much compared to the episode. I wish Scott was home Sunday night to see it, instead, I just sat on the couch all by myself and then called my mom (since I know she watched it too).

I am glad my baby is still inside of me and hope it stays there until May!

The next day, my extra channels were cut on my Telus tv... sadly no more TLC and Womens network for me and no more Fox news and CNN for Scott. The things we have to sacrifice for this unborn child :)

A Baby Shower and A Baby Bump

It has been a busy last 2 weeks with tons going on at work. We had our international employees from all over come for week long meetings and the Christmas party. The highlight of the week was the little baby shower the ladies threw for Marietta (a lady who works in the Netherlands) and me! Marietta is due about 2 weeks before me. One day at lunch they took us ladies out for a nice lunch and had balloons and gift baskets for us. I wish someone got a picture of the table, it looks really cute, but instead I took a picture later of the balloons (there was a few more but they popped) and also the gift basket. Scott and I had so much fun opening that night. Tons of cute outfits and blankets!

Saturday night we had my work Christmas party at the Rotary house, which is located at the stampede grounds. It was yummy food and a good time. My friend from work was trying to get me to dance but I enjoyed the socializing a bit more. BUT she did get me out there to do the Cadillac ranch! I was shocked that no one knew the dance to it but Marcy and me. I guess growing up going to youth dances and doing it every time, you never forget it! Someone did get a picture of us out there. It isn’t the best picture, but you can see a baby bump!

I wanted to add this funny picture. My work did a door decorating contest for Christmas. It was a christmas carol theme and this was Marcy's door.

Just a few days ago before I left for work, Scott took a few pictures of my belly at 22 weeks. The ones with my face didn’t turn out but here is one of my growing belly. I am really thankful I bought 3 knit dresses when I was in NY in the summer. They are all empire waist and perfect right now since I refuse to buy maternity clothes! Since they are not maternity dresses, they won’t fit forever but this black dress really made me look pregnant. In fact I had my first stranger ask me when I was due that day!

End of November, Brings December

Scott loves Christmas… and I have a hard time getting into the Christmas spirit! We went to visit my family last weekend and I am starting to feel a little bit of Christmas in me. My mom loves to take me to one of the greenhouses in Sherwood Park that has amazing Christmas decorations, which helped. Also my mom is almost done decorating already for Christmas! The main reason why we went up this weekend is my mom and I were doing a Christmas craft. I saw it a couple of Christmas’s ago and we were planning on doing it last Christmas but my mom’s dad passed away and we never found time. It is a craft for kids, a craft that they can play with and their moms won’t tell them not to touch. It isn’t fancy or anything, but cute! We made one for each kid in my family and I made two extra ones for two of my friends.

My sister and I were planning Christmas this year and what fun foods we are going to make and I have to admit I AM getting excited for Christmas. Early tonight we went and got our Christmas stuff from Scott’s parent’s house. I just need to do a little clean first and then I can start decorating!

This weekend Scott is going to be busy writing an essay, I am going to decorate and do some things around the house. We are also going to go look at this crib again tomorrow. I found one I like at e-children so we are going to take a second look. It is a really different looking crib, not your traditional looking… which is probably why we like it so much. And it is on sale… hopefully still!

I am looking forward to December 21st… hopefully I am finding out if my baby is a boy or a girl. I am hoping for a boy. When i think about this baby i never picture it a girl, never look at girl things online and don't even bother thinking of a girl name (which probably means we are having a girl). We went to our friend’s house tonight and they did the pencil test on me to see what I was having... it said a boy! Now if only it looked reliable!

I just found this picture on my camera, this is how we told our parents we were expecting! I put the frame in a Crate and Barrel bag. My mom and Ruth were so excited to see what we bought them...

Baby

As some of you already know… Scott and I are going to be having a baby! We are excited, I am nervous and a bit overwhelmed, but happy too! The little baby Fullmer is expected to arrive on May 15. My doctor wanted me to go in for a dating ultrasound, even though I told him when I was due. But I am glad he wanted me to go, it was an amazing experience! I didn’t know what I was expecting the baby to look like, but I was slightly shocked to see it with 2 legs, 2 arms and moving around like crazy! Here are a few pictures from my ultrasound at 12 weeks.

I am heading into my second trimester today and hoping this new trimester takes away the need to go to bed at like 7pm every night. My to do list is huge and I would like to start accomplishing things on the list, but I need to stay up past dinner time to do this.
Once I start showing I will post a picture but right now my belly looks the exact same as it always does.

Business Card Box

I saw this idea in a few different places and wanted to do it for myself. All the ones I saw where just a plain box, so i stepped it up a notch. I asked my dad to make me this box, I painted it white, covered it with paper, and made these tabs. They will hold all our business cards and i have cut scraps of paper to write down friends and family addresses. For now, since I don't have too many business cards, i found these marbles that matched and added them so the cards wont fall over.
Thanks Dad for making the box for me, I wanted to show you what it ended up looking like, so here it is!
